Genuine opportunity for a talented and experienced Trade Mark/IP solicitor with good client handling skills to lead a busy, growing Trademark/IP Team within a growing City firm that has built an established reputation in the IP field over a number of years and now wishes to develop it further by making a key appointment.The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, a keen entrepreneurial sense and recognise the way in which the delivery of legal services is changing.

He or she needs to be strongly motivated, as self-starter and be a clear communicator.

The firm prides itself on giving real client contact to its lawyers, so enthusiasm and good communication and client-handling skills are essential together with a commercial and practical problem solving mentality.

This is envisaged as a strategic appointment both to strengthen the IP offering of the firm and to take advantage of market opportunities abroad as well as in the UK so a foreign language at a good level would be an advantage as would experience in dealing with overseas clients and a track record of working successfully with overseas law firms and clients.

The appointment will either be at partnership level or will lead to early partnership.

The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate a track record of retaining clients and building new relationships. Some existing following (subject to covenant restrictions) would be an advantage although not a major requirement. Enthusiasm, commitment and good intellectual ability are important.
